"Hotel ok but very disapointing breakfast!"
The hotel was fine, apart from the bathroom floor! The breakfast on the other hand was very disappointing! The (not very) hot food looked like it had been put out first thing and just left still there. The bacon was very stiff and dry and felt like old leather. Parts were off colour. The fried eggs were solid and over cooked. The only food that was hot was the tinned tomato`s and mushrooms! There was no staff around to ask for fresh food. Not what you expect from a Britannia hotel!

"Location is the biggest plus for us"
Its the second time I stayed there. The staff are reasonably friendly and the room quite spacious (old stule "real" keys too) but both times I stayed, our Twin Room had the strange feature (which I have never seen in any other British hotel) of no bedside lights at all. - just ceiling lights and a powerful table lamp on the table near the TV. There was a wall light switch between our 2 beds, which the hotel services in-room guide said "one switch controls the ceiling light and the other is for the bedside light". But we tested it with all lights off and one switch (presumably the bedside light one) had no effect at all. The location of this hotel (bus stop outside and Chalk Farm underground pretty close (under 10 mins) along a level road) - 2 stops from Euston if you use the Northern Line City branch - is what brings us back here.

"Rooms"
Very basic rooms the beds where uncomfortable, lots of noise through the night from the local residents outside, not the hotels fault but all adds to the experience. Breakfast was really good and found the staff to be helpful.

"Only stay on a budget"
Wallpaper peeling off, damp and mould all around room. Sticky and stained carpets. Uncomfortable beds. Dirty bathrooms. We stayed here knowing it would be budget but for a 3* we expected it to everyone clean. It wasn`t. This is more like an unrated-2* at best. I`ve stayed in cleaner and nicer hostels!

"damp!"
we were allocated a room in the lower floor, so basically the basement, which smelled very damp, there was no air circulation and we could not get the feeling that we could breath easy due to the damp, stuffy air. When we got to our bedroom, we were apparently lucky to even have a window, we could see that the top corners of the bedroom had black damp spots, the radiators did not work and the bedroom was very cold. The bathroom was clean but the tub looked damp as well, decor very old. We were cold all night. What made it less pleasant was the lack of hot/warm water. there was no hot water available so we had to wash in freezing cold water. The reception gave no explanation as to why there was no hot water other than there is none in the hotel at present but they didn`t explain why.. The breakfast was ok, I wouldn`t say it was amazing but it did its job. As great as the location was (which must be the best thing about the hotel) I don`t think I`ll be returning to this hotel.
