Room and hotel facilities:

During their stay at 4* Macdonald Alveston Manor guests can take advantage of the hotel`s Spa and Health Club, which includes an in-door 18m pool and state of the art fitness suite. There are also a wide range of Spa treatments available, which should be arranged in advance directly with the hotel. All of the 113 bedrooms blend modern facilities you would expect alongside the period features of a 16th century building, many having traditional wooden beams and garden views. In-room amenities include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, television and tea & coffee making facilities. All have ensuite bathrooms with Elemis toiletries and hairdryers. The Manor Restaurant serves dinner from 5.30pm so guests can enjoy their pre-theatre set menu before and evening at the theatre and an a la carte menu for a more leisurely meal. More casual dining is also available in the Blue Lounge, where a luxurious champagne Afternoon Tea is served daily.

Hotel and location:

Located in a peaceful spot but just minutes from the centre of Stratford upon Avon, the Macdonald Alveston Manor is in an ideal location to enjoy a relaxing stay. The River Avon is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel and visitors can stroll across the footbridge into the Shakespearean town. The Swan Theatre, part of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on the riverbank is just 10 minutes on foot and the visitors centre which includes Shakespeare`s birthplace is only 12-minute walk away. Canal and river tours are also available from the town centre. The hotel is 1 mile, approximately 20 minutes walk, from Stratford Upon Avon Railway Station in the centre of the town where there are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and antique shops to browse.

Getting there:

BY CAR: From junction 15 of the M40 take the A429 exit to Warwick/Stratford/Coventry/A46, keep right to continue towards Stratford Rd. At Longbridge IS take the 5th exit onto Stratford Rd after 0.5 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Stratford Rd/A46. Continue to follow A46 for 1.8 miles and at Marraway Roundabout take the 1st exit onto Warwick Rd/A39. After 4 miles Warwick Rd/A39 turns left and becomes Bridgeway/A3400. Turn left onto Bridge Foot/A3400/A422 and continue to follow this route for 0.2 miles. Turn left and the hotel will be on the left.
BY TRAIN: From Stratford upon Avon Station The hotel is approximately 1 mile, 8 minutes by taxi.
