"Good interior but let down in many ways"
The appearance is fantastic but loses the potential due to several reasons. Firstly the customer service was average at best, many staff didn`t want to form a conversation or knew anything about the hotel. The luggage room is exceptionally small, if you were to travel as a large group it would be very difficult to store your items. Topped up with bathrooms and air conditioning that doesn`t work properly it leaves the hotel in a strange situation of being so close yet so far away from a great place to stay.

"Much better than expected at this price level"
After reading terrible reviews of some other, slightly cheaper, venues in the city, The Stuart came up on a booking site (need to SEO their own site). Didn`t realise it was a `brand` hotel (Best Western) until I got there.
Very clean, high spec durable fittings, only very minor criticism would be that the bath was slippy whilst showering, but for a single room - no kids in danger - adults should be fine.
Free car park at the rear (unsecured), and pleasant staff. Will only book here next time I stay in Derby.

"Sleepless night"
Dirty bathroom, hair in bath and on tiles, room smelled smoky, dust on furniture.
Worst problem was that the doors were extremely noisy on closing, could hear doors shutting several rooms down, didn`t sleep a wink until about 6am due to other younger guests constantly going in and out of each others rooms all night.
would not stay in this hotel again, not a good experience.

"Breakfast should be included"
The problem with not including breakfast is that you don`t know how many people will decide to take breakfast so the quality will suffer - not the service, which was excellent, or the cooked items but things like the breads and other savouries (not as fresh as they might have been). To be competitive you need to include breakfast in the price.

"Initial problems then progress"
Recently had a 3 night stay and on check found my room had no heating or hot water. mentioned it to the duty manager on my way out and was moved to a new room 24 hours later. New room was complete opposite as heating was on full blast and room was therefore red hot, window lock was fixed shut with no key, so could not open window for additonal ventilation and resorted to using the fan. Apart from temperature issues hotel was clean and tidy and staff very friendly.
