| Guest rating: | 1/12/2009 | | "Dirty , Stained Carpets come on in!!" | | | | The hotel was of a poor standard, the carpeting was all stained - the rooms were small - our room was set up for 1 person 1cup, 1 set of towels, etc. Our key wouldn`t open the door - so the chambermaid opened it for us - when we returned the problem still hadn`t been fixed although we reported it to the concierge and left the damaged key with him under the understanding it would be sorted on our return some 7 hours later - the Duty Manager did sort it later for us and was very apologetic. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - it needs a refurbishment project - We didn`t try breakfast!

Deserves a 5 star rating for quality and value. Thanks for making our break complete.

A tad dated, however, the staff and in particular the Concierge were welcoming and only too happy to help with enquiries. Our bedroom was also a great size with plenty of room to move around. We intend to use the hotel again for a future similar break.

After making our views known we were offered a free bottle of wine or a free lunch as they could not discount our stay because it was booked from First direct. Generally the hotel was okay breakfast were good, small points let the place down like stained carpets in the corridor. a broken cystern top replaced with a tatty piece of painted ply. and stained and torn bed base. the Hotel lacked attention to detail.

The staff on booking in very friendly, room was very good and clean. Brakfast was excellent . The only down on our stay was that when we checked out the only words from the young girl on reception were "Your account is paid " she never asked if we had enjoyed our stay. It was just a DISMISSAL !!!!!

The staff were helpful with any questions we had, the breakfast was fantastic and the room, although dated, was quiet and had a great shower. I would definitely go back.

Meal deals were explained and when we had a problem with the heater the consierge fixed it immediately - press the off button on the hand set!- without making us feel stupid. Booked 2 rooms and were put on the same floor, around the corner from each other, not always the case at other hotels. Easy walk to tube and on to Piccadilly Circus, perfect for the theatre. We will be staying here again. Thank you

My only grouch is the amount of noise from other guests talking loudly in the corridor at 1 am (hardly the hotel`s fault) and taking a bath at what sounded like inches from my ear at 3 am - perhaps more sound-proofing would help there?

The rooms were quite large, the room cleaning very well done, the bathroom was clean and luckily without carpet on the floor (as it happened once for a stay in a four star hotel nearby where we stayed some time ago!). The hotel is ideally located: Covent Garden is just a 15 minutes stroll, the British Museum just five, a lot of small restaurantsand bars for going out in the evening nearby. And also St Pancras station (Eurostar terminal) is also very close. Very happy about our choice

Pleasant and courteous staff, well maintained hotel with good local restaurants. We will definitely consider returning.
