The plus points were the location, close to the rail & coach stations and the major shopping "village" of the Bullring & the Pavillions. Very helpful staff, excellent buffet dinner @ a moderate price and the happy hour.The Brittania does need a facelift, but in economically stringent times perhaps not the biggest priority for the hotel chain. The windows & curtains do need some attention. Would go there again.

"Central"
The location is ideal on one of the main shopping streets in the city centre and two minutes walk from the railway station. Staff are friendly. It`s clean but a little past its prime. We stayed two nights. On the first morning there was no breakfast due to a gas malfunction in the kitchen. A good breakfast was provided on the second morning. Cheap, cheerful and central is my overall opinion.

As vegetarians we were given a delicious meal at the Hotel`s restaurant.We appreciated the availability of the complimentary newspapers.

Ideally situated in the centre of the city.Staff helpful and courteous.Room comfortable and clean. Although some areas of the hotel need some refurbishment.
