"Restaurant let you down! But the Hotel still good but disappointing in parts as below"

The hotel itself was welcoming, the rooms very good (from my experience) the paring and location met the needs of visitors, the restaurant staff were welcoming, helpful, smart, but appearing to be without appropriate support from the kitchen. They had to advise the customers that what was read into the menu information was not as it appeared, and was not acceptable to the customer, so a starter went uneaten and not paid for. And I then sought an external restaurant!Equally a vegetarian breakfast did not meet the expectation of a lifelong vegetarian, again, not the staff`s problem but not the customers satisfaction either.So I cancelled breakfast on from then.I would suggest that the loser on each count was the Hotel in both the short term and the future.

We were staying in the cottage, it had plenty of room but had a damp smell and there was litter in the bin and on the carpet. The bathroom smelt awful. Very disappointed with the pool as this was on my children`s tick list. It was small but would of been ok if the current machine worked, apparently broken for a while? Compared to other hotels on the Internet it seemed a treat for me and my children but in reality I could of got cheaper, especially as we didn`t use the pool. This is the first city break where we have not enjoyed our hotel.

Lovely friendly hotel, rooms clean and cosy. Breakfast very nice. Disappointed with the car park charge £10 per night, would have expected complimentary parking for £270 2 nights b and b !!

"Constructive Comment"

I found the smoke detector light was really bright and it was a little difficult to get to sleep but once asleep it was fine, I forgot about it. I wondered if it could be relocated in the room?

"Lovely all round hotel"

Book as a last minute didn`t know what to expect, lovely room lovely breakfast, lovely staff would recommend and certainly use again.

"Conveniently placed"

Very nice Hotel one or two little things like bulb out in bedroom & a cracked cup. Wasn`t too keen on the self service breakfast I personally prefer waiter service but thats just personal choice as I couldn`t fault the food itself it was very tasty.

Rooms dated but clean, would stay again but perhaps in different part of hotel. Parking very tight but again staff very helpful.

Lovely hotel beautiful surroundings perfect for a chilled out break 5 mins walk from city centre staff were very friendly and rooms very clean would definatley recomend this hotel :-)

Can`t believe this hotel is classed as 2 star.Couldn`t find any reason to complain about,friendly staff, comfy rooms. Overall great hotel, would definitely stay again.

I booked a double room and when we checked in we found out we had a twin room. No explanation at the time, and it was only mentioned when we checked out. The breakfast was very good however.
