"Lobby, bar, dining room and lounge are very good. Hoever, the Windmil House rooms are rather shabby "
The common areas (lobby, bar, dining roon and lounge) are very good. However, the Windmill House wing is rather shabby and threadbare and in need of an urgent revamp.

the hotel was spotless and the breakfast had a variety of options. all the staff were friendly and helpful and helped to make my stay special

Lovely old worldy hotel in a great position, 5 minutes walk from station and equally close to town centre. Staff very helpful and certainly no complaints about breakfast. If I was to be really picky my only quibble would be that the room (and ours was in a rather newer building at the back), although very clean, was just a little shabby, especially the bathroom. But I would still recomend this hotel and wouldn`t hesitate to stay there again if I was in Canterbury.

"A warm welcome in a traditional English Inn"
Really delighted by the ambience - old beams and history in abundance. Room was immaculate, breakfast excellent and the reception team were absolutely brilliant. I said `what a lovely hotel` and the receptionist replied `we think so`. You can tell how proud they are of their hotel. Lovely.
