Great location windows could do with better curtains as they don,t block any light, rooms clean and comfortable staff very helpful definitely recommend

"Cleanliness problem"

Towel provided was stained- changed for clean one. There was a bit of biscuit by the side of one bed. Hair on shower cubicle and on sheet - not mine ! Dusty behind sink. Didn`t bother complaining.Overall needs updating- threadbare carpets in hallway and yellowing lampshade in my room .Found staff odd - younger ones fine but on checking out the older lady said oh you`ve paid already - you can leave with a clean conscience- rude !!!

"2 Night Break in York"

Overall the hotel met all our requirements for two nights, room was small but clean, en-suite was very small. Breakfast was excellent with very pleasant staff.

"not good value for money"

Hotel looks tired and worn but clean.Staff quite attentive.Room very small.Bathroom even smaller.Smell from toilet although clean(Drains possibly)

A lovely place with an individual style (originally an Italianate villa). Very friendly, clean, and very comfortable bed. Directly on a bus route to the city, outside the door. Breakfast very good. We plan a return visit.

"Enjoyed our stay."

All the staff were very helpful & friendly. Breakfasts were excellent & all food was cooked to order, which made it fresh & tasty. The only downside we found was the hot water system was slightly intermittent in our room (Number 7). But otherwise it was good value for money.

"A great place to stay in York and see the city"

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were friendly, helpful and with good clean rooms and an excellent breakfast, what more could you need?

"Pleasant place to stay, good breakfast!"

Clean, comfortable place to stay within walking distance(15mins) from the centre of York.Tasty breakfast.Best to have a room at the back of the hotel away from the main road at the front.

in a good location for walking into York centre staff polite and helpful room good size every thing you want in the room quiet location no noise at night easy to get to from main road breakfast had a good choice and good size full english

"Very good hotel"

Hotel was clean and homely (excellent breakfast) room was very comfortable but lacking power points and suitable ventilation (although temperature was very high - lovely!) Overall we would recommend the hotel, it was within walking distance of York centre and it`s amenities.

"Smashing place to stay."

The room was clean and well set out. The en-suite was clean and a decent size. Both were heated well ( it was a cold night). Breakfast was 1st class. The hotel was close enough to walk into the city centre and the parking was free. York is quite expensive to park your car in. A really enjoyable stay.

"Very comfy hotel."

Only stayed the one night, but the room was very nice, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was 1st rate and the staff were very friendly. I would stay again and recommend to others.
