"Tired hotel"

Great location for Kensington, Parks etc, tube station 5 min walk.The hotel itself is very tired, no air con in the rooms, very tatty but clean.Breakfast was good but busy, for a few nights it is fine, longer than that I`d consider elsewhere.

"Great room"

Our room was very clean and spacious. We overlooked the railway lines, but didn`t really notice the noise! Only reason I didn`t give an excellent was that the washbasin in the bathroom was very slow to drain, then blocked altogether. We were leaving at that time anyway, so didn`t feel the need to report it. A great stay, would definitely recommend this hotel!

"Getting tired."

Overall it was ok , the staff are good and the breakfast is filling and plentiful. The rooms are getting tired, the bed creaked and the heating system is uncontrollable slowly very hot , or quickly very hot. There was no warm it just got stuffy.The window catches in 1103 were loose and did nothing to seal the window, which worked to cool the hot room , just not very secure for an 11th floor room..

"Not 4 Star Hotel"

This hotel has a fabulous foyer and the service is good but it is a different matter with the rooms. Nice, comfy king sized bed but there is no chest of drawers to use for underwear or tops. We had to make use of this drawers in the desk. There was only one chair so we had to take turns sitting on it or on the bed. There is a huge unused wall space that could have a chest of drawers and another chair. The room was very clean but one of the coffee mugs had a huge chip on the rim. I had to request another one from the front desk. Shower curtains are germ ridden things and should no longer be used in proper hotels. Goodness knows how many people have rubbed against it when showering. Plenty of hangers in the wardrobe but the door kept sticking. Definitely not 4 star facilities.

"Old and tired "

The only negative about the hotel was it was a bit older inside, it was very comfortable and clean though

"Unorganised and little bit tired."

Hotel is situated in a lovely area and wouldn`t hesitate to stay in this area again but not sure I would pick this hotel. Hotel is right on the railway line so trains running until early hours. Beds are comfy which is a blessing and if needing just for a base and to rest head, it does the job. Rooms are tired, with old worn furniture and run down bathrooms. We asked to change rooms due to have a very noisy first night, the hotel were very accommodating and we switch rooms without any bother, unfortunately the room was a double so just asked if it could be made a twin for us, again told not a problem and will be sorted. On our return at 23:00 the bed had been converted to a twin, but had not been made and no sheets available to make up the beds. It was an unfortunate event which delayed us getting to sleep on an already busy amd long day.

"How is this a 4 star hotel?"

Long queue to check in which took a LONG time. Supposed superior twin room` was very small and badly in need of redecoration and updating. Toilet didn`t flush properly and room was cold. 2 lifts were out of order. Pre-booked Afternoon Tea which they were `not aware of`, told we would have to wait 20 minutes while they prepared it, food arrived 55 minutes later. Cooked breakfast was lukewarm and the plates were cold. Staff were not particularly either friendly of helpful. Certainly wouldn`t stay again or recommend to anyone.

"Nice enough"

Stylish hotel on ground floor. Bedrooms can do with some modernisation and a face lift, furniture a bit tatty. Some staff were lovely, some not so much! Breakfast was good enough but not great. Our room was noisy due to overlooking the tube station.

"Noticeable Deterioration"

On this visit, we have been so very disappointed in the the Copthorne Tara Hotel. Having returned here with South African family after 30 years of using the hotel, we have been embarrassed at its deterioration on so many levels. Countless aspects of lack of care have been very noticeable: a nasty, stale urine smell in ensuite, even after supposed cleaning, screw holes left in walls, hanging hooks swivelling around, housekeeping staff not following door-hang sign, concierge often absent from post, serving staff not understanding English, carpets ripped, too many to mention, just a general malaise overall. We suspect that management has changed, but not for the better! I certainly would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and would actively discourage booking it, after so many years recommending it to others, our `go-to` hotel in London! Sadly disappointed!

"Nice hotel"

I`ve no complaints about the Copthorne Tara hotel, my room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable, the bath towels were of a good quality, there was a mini fridge and everything was clean. The buffet breakfast was good, with plenty of choice.

The booking was for 3 people, which meant a double and single. When checking in the single bed had not been provided, therefore we had to wait for an additional bed. Bathroom requires a little updating

"Good room, acceptable stay"

Not our first stay here and mostly fine with the following observations. The check in queue was horrendous, maybe we were unlucky. Room was comfortable but should undertake a deep clean. Breakfast was very busy and a little underwhelming. It served our purpose though as we were there for just one night.

We have had a wonderful few days at this hotel. I cannot fault it in any way. There is an excellent heating system at your hotel and in particular the bedroom was so warm and comfortable. The breakfast was truly comprehensive. I will definitely revisit this hotel for another stay in the future. Having the underground just around the corner was another added feature and bonus to staying at this hotel. Thank you so much for your attentiveness throughout the stay.

Very dated rooms and we were allocated accessible rooms although no one in our party has physical disabilities which would need them. The shower was not very powerful or warm and the enclosure was in a very poor condition. All in all not a very pleasant stay.

"PERFECT PLACE TO STAY"

This is the second time I have stayed at the Copthorne Tara and it really is a lovely Hotel, clean, warm, comfortable with welcoming staff and in a great location for visiting museums etc. Beds are very comfortable, and staff seem very attentive, I would certainly stay again.

"It wasn`t as good as when we went before"

We were disappointed with our stay this time at this hotel.There was no bottled water in the room and only a qr code for information on the hotel. The breakfast wasn`t as good with little choice and the tea and coffee was all out of a machine for breakfast. Drinks in the lobby were expensive and you had to use a disembodied card machine to pay. In general the hotel seem tired.

"A little tired, don`t get a room at the back."

Great location to visit museums. Hotel is expensive and looks a little tired. Our room was at the rear with a train track running parallel. Very noisy all through the night. If you prefer a hotel base I would personally use a holiday inn or premier inn. They would generally be cheaper.

Clean, quite, pleasant staff, very close to tube statuongood choice for breakfast. I personally found the bed a little hard but other than that a very pleasant stay

"Not a 4 star room no way near superior."

I booked a supirior double room in this 4 star Hotel. The facilities of the hotel may have met the 4 star requirements but the room was more 2 star. Small, old mixed style furniture, very noisy empty fridge, dubious electrical fittings, cracked basion, no sound protection from adjoining room, tierd decoration ans so on. Very poor.

"Excellent location, friendly staff"

The hotel reception and foyer is very nice, staff helpful and friendly at check in. The rooms are a lithe tired though, especially the bathrooms. Great buffet breakfast.

"Average at best"

Hotel was average at best, issues at checking as there were workmen in our room when we arrived for our 3pm checking.The room was very basic and in serious need of updating and definitely not a superior room as we booked, our room was by the main corridor door so had the enjoys of it banging shut all hour throughout the night.The bar was always closed by 11pm so when we returned from the shows we could not have a night cap, to finish the evening.

"Nice hotel "

All staff very attentive, rooms a tad dated but clean to a point, second stay and the restaurant has not got any better, staff good but food not the same if ordering again especially the Fish and chips second time in the week the chips were fries and the batter not as good! We declined buying breakfast because it was expensive. We would return as on the whole a good six nights.

"Good hotel in convenient area"

The hotel has a very efficient and friendly reception. Great staff. Very convenient for our purpose. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything about our stay was good. Our only reservation was that the room was a little `tired` and could do with a freshen up.
