"The Queens hotel york"

Stayed the weekend at this lovely hotel. The train station was a 10min walk away.The hotel is on the river and is just over the bridge to the town centre were there are lovely restaurants and bars and a cobbled streets there are fantastic little shop on the quaint streets near the shambles.The hotel staff were very friendly our room was ready early so we checked in it was clean and very nice we didn`t overlook the river which was a shame but we stayed in a three bed it was very comfy.Towels were provided the only downfall was if your bigger the towels were very small so I`d suggest you maybe bring your own there were clean towels everyday and coffee and tea provided in your room also a fan which I was very happy about.I can`t comment on the restaurant as we didn`t use it.We had an 11am checkout but wasn`t leaving till the afternoon and the hotel let us store our luggage till we left for our train.I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend.

An enjoyable stay. Good food. Only complaint I have was the carpet in our room (79) could have done with a good clean.

We had a lovely stay at the arena hotel, the hotel is lovely an clean a great location staff are helpful and friendly

"Impressed with early checkin. The room clean comfortable and had tea coffee making facilities."

Would certainly recommend the hotel to friends very central for all the sights of the city. Staff friendly and courteous.

We enjoyed our three night stay all staff were helpful and friendly. We had our towels and bin`s emptied one during our stay. The hotel is very well placed for visiting all sites in York

The standard of service was poor. At £170.00 a night I don`t expect a request to book a taxi to get turned down because the reception staff are too busy. I forgot to book breakfast so arrived without a booking for that. I was asked to come back 45 minutes later because they were too busy (even though there were empty tables and it was a self-service buffet), which I would not have minded, were it not for the fact the dining room was busier when I came back later. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom. Overall, the experience was much worse than a Premier Inn, which is considerably cheaper.

Would stay at the Queens Hotel again, not far from the train station and a very good location for sightseeing

"Great hotel "

Had a lovely stay here. Close to all attractions and shops. Short walk to railway station Clean and staff helpful and polite. Can`t go wrong staying here ! I`d come again for sure

"Rooms are just beautiful and clean."

We stayed at the Queens for two nights and it was just lovely. Beds comfy room very clean, staff were lovely went out of their way to help us so polite. The hotel is in a great situation just a few steps up to the main drag would definitely recommend it to anyone going into York for a long weekend or holiday. Thank you and well done to the staff in the restaurant too, the food was beautiful.

" The Queen`s Hotel, is ideally situated to visit York ."

Welcoming hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and they had real milk for tea !!! Ideally situated for walking to York`s centre and its many attractions. Breakfasts and dinner had a wide range of choices. Dinner especially was varied had some impressive dishes on the menu .Planning to return at some point in the future.

"Very well placed hotel for a city break"

Queens hotel is within a short walk from rail station it is ideally placed as it close to many city attractions and eating places. Reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful I will definitely stay again when re visiting the city.

"No more than basic cleaning done"

I found the hotel staff pleasant and helpful when approached, the breakfast was really good and the bed comfortable. However, just getting into the lift highlights the fact that cleanliness is not a priority. Basic cleaning in my room was done but the tv remote was filthy and the edges of the flooring, especially in the bathroom, showed that they are not touched - which gets you wondering how clean other surfaces are. Staff need more time per room or more thorough training.

"I made the right choice!"

Lots of hotels to choose from in York, but after much research and map reading picked The Queens as it is near everything. Along with that location was the reviews, all good, and l now know why. Great service from the reception staff, very good recommendations on where to eat etc. Excellent breakfast. Very happy and would return here if in York again!
