Work being done in hotel. Not informed.Breakfast in hotel next door (not informed until arrival) so didn`t attend as not convenient. TV in room not working. Told all tvs not working. Bed sheets didn`t fit.Water turned off at midday.Felt very let down by lack of information before and during our stay.

"Brilliant Location"
The hotel was dated but under renovation, However, the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good and the staff were very polite and helpful. On our second evening due to maintenance the water was off from 9 -11pm. We were informed of this. However, the water did not come on until almost 1am. We requested water so that we could brush our teeth but were unable to shower or flush the toilet following our visit to the theatre. We spoke to Oksana the following morning and she apologised profusely and refunded our breakfast payments. We felt that once the hotel realised that the water would not be coming back on at 11pm they should have made arrangements to supply bottled water to guests without us needing to ask twice. We were offered the opportunity to shower at their sister hotel.This was not really an option in the early hours of the morning. The location of the hotel was excellent for our plans.

"Great location but old and tired! "
The receptionist on arrival was very curt and unhelpful, she gave us the room keys, took my security deposit and pretty much dismissed us. I asked her if the restaurant was open (5pm) to be rudely told it wasn`t open until 6:30pm. The very helpful barman passing by heard and said we could have drinks and snacks in the bar. I think his name was Omu (apologies if wrong). We opted for drinks and fish and chips which were fabulous! Fresh and well cooked. The room itself was clean on the surface but I had some bites overnight. It was small and dated, however I understand the hotel is being refurbished and really does need it! The room in no way resembled what was on the website. The two receptionists that checked us out in the morning were completely different to the day before making it a much more pleasant experience.

Very clean hotel, staff were amazing , the beds were so comfortable! The only thing I will say is the breakfast was cold but apart from that everything else was fantastic

"Disappointing"
Be aware, you will be asked for card details for security deposit, organizer didn`t tell us. Hotel is average. Some areas need maintenance. Tv in one of our rooms didn`t work at all. No daily room cleaning done, so cups not changed. Single room very small. For the amount paid very disappointing.

This was just a one-night stay and it was an easy, convenient and pleasant stay. Room was `snug` but adequate for my needs. No issues regarding the experience.

"Not happy"
Not happy with what was provided. Demand for £25.00 pre authorisation before allowing me to book in, having already had full payment for accomodation and continental breakfast. Given this demad, checked room found two crude plumbing access panels buckling out undrr bath and sink unit. Also 2 x 13 amp outlets(1 single. 1 double) had damage and burn marks around the pin accesses. Room claimed to be superior twin. Set up as a double when arrived. On arrival told there was no facility to eat, this despite telephone on two seperate occasions as requested by them to advise would be arriving approx 7pm. After sorting yhe room requested information re places to eat. Then told dining room was ppen...

"Lovely hotel"
Due to maintenance we were sent to the sister hotel Wellington, just an around the corner. Wow! What a difference- very plush hotel and we felt that it certainly was an upgrade. The room was very big, modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was modern and clean. Couldn`t fault the accommodation at all.

Booked a superior twin, upon arrival was told there was a maintenance problem and we were being moved to the hotel next door. That was ok, we were then given our key and while checking in ordered breakfast for the next day and paid in advance as we got a discount. The room had one bed and one fold out sofa, not exactly twin beds as I`d booked We were in the basement and the room was very basic, no dressing table mirror to do make up. The bed itself was quite hard too. The next day we went for breakfast and were told the charge, I mentioned we had paid at check in and we were told to check with reception. We decided to leave breakfast as it was clearly too much to organise and we left. Not good service, let alone great.

This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting theatre, the hotel is clean and the staff all of them was very helpful friendly, I definitely would stay there again if visiting London and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

"Excellent location"
On arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to a better room. We had a pleasant view of some sports fields on the second floor which was nice. However if this was one of the better rooms then I`m glad we were upgraded. Main room is pleasant enough but could do with a bit of TLC. Carpets and curtains looking a bit tired and the bath had holes and dents in it. Having said that staff were helpful and couldn`t do enough for you and bottom line is it`s a decent base with a superb location.

The hotel was lovely, in a fantastic location. Very clean and tidy. Staff were polite, welcoming and helpful. We had to extend our stay due to the weather as we were unable to get home. This was not a problem because the staff booked us in for another night, this also was the same for many other guests too.I would visit again.

"Rochester by Blue orchid avoid terrible place"
First room had window open in room next door and broken latch in my room, took 3 visits to reception through night to sort,no hot water in room,strange noise in bathroom all night.Second room filthy,spoke to reception showed pictures and said bath washed out after last guests would be nice,and thought with covid room would be thoroughly cleaned after guests,was told well your bed is made though, was told room would be cleaned while out,was still dirty when we returned, I cleaned bath myself as still filthy,staff unhelpful, had no sleep first night at all ,will never book again

"Disappointing will not stay again"
Communication was a serious let down checked in but had zero information, no restaurant onsite and no information given staff clueless when asked questions. Was a flip down double bed a basic room. Couldnt plug fridge and tv in as only 1 plug lack of plugs within room so charging phone was difficult. Went to sister hotel for a meal and staff there had zero Communication skills aswell all round disappointment. Coming from hospitality industry lack of care and cleanliness throughout will be avoiding in future
