"Breakfast"

Breakfast arrived at 9.45 on the second day. Not at all on the 3rd day. Otherwise room was well equipped and very clean.

"extracta fans noisy"

we had a nice 2 bedroom apartment with all amenities instructions for all appliances except for a mobile phone we never used staff at reception very friendly and helpful

"Spacous modern apartment close to all the action."

The modern apartment was large enough for two people with a well equipped kitchen. Clean and secure. Shower over the bath but adequate water pressure. Room cleaned each day. Apartment close to Holyrood parliament buildings, the Royal Mile and other major tourist attractions. Can recommend this apartment if you prefer self-catering.

"Spacious well equipped apartments in edinburgh"

The apartments are well located for walking to The Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. The apartments are clean although the carpets could do with replacing. There was quite a bit of noise echoing around early morning from the courtyards below. Would definitely stay here again

"Well thought out apartment with all our needs catered for. "

On arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. We found the apartment roomy and very clean. The kitchen was well appointed and would support a much longer stay in Edinburgh. Instructions for heating were clear and easy to use. The bathrooms were clean and equipped with toiletries. We found the beds very comfortable and enjoyed a good night`s sleep. The sitting area was tidy and comfy. We thought this was very good value and would book with Aparthotel in future

"Excellent hotel"

From a slightly dowdy exterior I was very surprised by the quality of our room. Stayed in a double double apartment on 6th floor. Very spacious and airy with separate kitchen and a dining area. Bathrooms (1 en suite) had been newly renovated very well and the stay was very comfortable. Plenty of provisions for breakfast and teas/coffees. Will certainly stay here again.

"Very Comfortable"

The accommodation is excellent. The location is very good. I arrived early for check-in and was notified "very clearly" by the receptionist that I couldn`t check-in until 2pm. There was, however, no problem in storing my luggage until check-in. Room serviced to an excellent standard each day. Overall, I would highly recommend Holyrood Aparthotel. Just a little friendlier reception staff would be nice.

"Good value for families "

A bit tashed around the decor, scuff marks on walls etc, but our apartment had 2 bathrooms with showers and WC one with a bath, a very functional and well equipped kitchen and two bedrooms. We also had a breakfast box with 2pints of milk a variety of cereal, orange juice, butter, coffee, bread, tea, jams and philly cheese! Great to get you started. Staff were so accommodating when we asked to extend our overnight stay to allow my daughter to shower after a very muddy XC race they allowed us to use the shower room by the gym, fully kitted with shower gel & fresh towels. Good place, good location, nice vibe!!

"Overall it was very good would go back."

I am a wheel chair user and it did have a sort of wet room, doors extra wide, the kitchen and living area easy to to move around had everything you needed, and more.My main problem was it was very difficult for me to manoeuvre my wheel chair around the hallway from room to room. The carpet in the hallway and the large thresholds at each door were a problem for my husband to help move me around. Impossible to do on my own. If only l minor disability then yes it is excellent. The bonus was two shower rooms.

"Very good accommodation and in a central but quiet location for Royal Mile"

2 commentsBuilding work replacing landing windows was in progress but we were not told or offered an apology for the noise or the inability to use the lift at times as builders moved equipment.The staff in reception had little knowledge of local buses. On two occasions we were directed to the wrong bus stop or given wrong route number giving us the incorrect route number for a bus to visit the Royal Yacht

"Clean and comfortable but not easy to find as down a back ally off main road."

Office management needs some work. Asked for parking as my husband is disabled but to make sure we had parking on site I e-mailed the hotel. Did not get a reply so then rang them only to be told that there was no parking available for my dates. On arrival I was asked to sign in and was asked for car reg, I said you don`t need It as I am not parked here as I was told no parking was available. The young man on duty just said okay then. Imagine my surprise on checking out to be given a bill for parking which we had not had. This made me very angry as I had to struggle with case from and to the nearest car park.

"Great central location & good value for money with well-appointed rooms."

Friendly team at reception. The only drawback is the limited parking. We booked this prior to our visit, but even so the car park is extremely tight. There is also an additional (small) charge for this, which is maybe something the hotel should look at incorporating into its prices. But overall, a very good place to stay & would definitely use it again.

"This Hotel lived up to our expectations , we were well impressed by the high quality of service."

I would recommend this Hotel to everone , it was clean, had all the facilities on board and more even an umbrella, safety deposit box i`m definately going back. The staff was very helpful and the place was central to almost everything, we enjoyed a home away from home.

"EXCELLENT VALUE ALL-ROUND GREAT LOCATION"

Could not fault the Apartment - Was exactly as advertised - Had every amenity including a washing machine x was spotlessly clean - I stayed there for only one nite with 3 other friends x will be definitely recommending it to others - it would be a great base moreso to stay for a number of nights and not just one - if u had the time available.

"Home from Home"

Will definitely be going back here,the studio was very clean a kitchen with everything you need,dishwasher,oven,microwave etc.... Front room tv and dvd with comfy couch,main bedroom Had on sweet bathroom very big and clean,there is also a separate bathroom and twin room,Breakfast basket on arrival had bread,cereal,tea coffee,jams,yogurt,biscuits,orange juice really nice,the destination is perfect I couldn`t recommend this place enough,we were really impressed with all the staff day and nights everything was just a real pleasure thanks

"Fantastic location & well equipped"

Really pleased to have opted for this hotel. Very well priced & the welcome pack was a real bonus. Only negatives are a slightly uncomfortable bed & some noise from other guests; neither would stop me booking in the future.

"Will stay again"

Everything was perfect apart from loud extractors and ott fire doors. Where I understand the need for fire doors, a few doorstops could have been provided, especially with a child who is used to sleeping with door open a little. Other than that, brilliant place to stay, great location and attention to detail. Well done!!

"Excellent overall -but problems with very noisy plumbing!"

Hello OVERALL, the Holyrood apartments are an excellent option for central Edinburgh representing very good value, spotlessly clean, spacious, well presented. Secure parking at nominal fee. We had an issue with an extremely noisy pumping system under the bath (as loud as a food processor) which meant we had to shout over it, use TV sub titles or avoid using the taps! Twice, the job had not been logged by reception, so nothing was done. A shame as otherwise, this would have been an exemplary experience. Would stay again - but bring a plumber!

loved staying at Holyrood Apartments, walking distance to everything, only thing I did not like was the pillows on the bed, really hard and could not sleep, but this was the second time I have stayed at Holyrood Apartments and I hope to be back a third time.

"Would definitely use this hotel again"

The hotel had all we could ask for and we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location is excellent and the old town is within easy walking distance. The staff could not have been more helpful and are a credit to their employers. We will return to Edinburgh in the near future and we will be booking this hotel again and will recommend it to family and friends.

"Happy to return"

Though I found it a bit tricky to find, this is a gem of a hotel: clean, roomy, and helpful staff. We will be back again on our next visit to Edinburgh!

"Great central location"

The studio apartment worked well for us. A well equipped kitchenette and comfortable bed. It had everything we needed for a three night stay although we did mange to set the smoke alarm off every time we tried to make toast!

"Solved our Family of 5 dilemma perfectly!! "

As a family with 3 children, it is almost impossible to find a family room in a nice hotel that accomodates us, booking the 2 bed apartment here was perfect! :) Plenty of space, apartment was spotless and the skylight dining area was fantastic!! Highly recommend, and we will definately be back :)

I stayed in the 2 bedroon apt with my 2 children the accommodation was clean and spacious and the staff on the reception were very helpful at all times. The beds were so comfortable that we all slept soundly after a hard days shopping and walking to ensure we saw as many sites as possible. Due to the location it was very quiet and peaceful and we will definately return and use this accomodation again, it was very good value for many especially compared to the prices of similar accommodation.

"Good location"

Well equiped and clean studio fine for two people, noisy neighbours keeping us awake into the early hours took a bit of the shine off. Comfy bed awful pillows.

"Great location, immaculate, comfortable bed, great kitchen"

Would stay again definitely and recommend it. Only 2 tiny things - neither of the 2 nozzles for the hairdryer fitted the dryer and the breakfast hamper had no butter/marg (room 408). But that would not stop me staying again

"Immaculate"

Probably one of the best, if not THE BEST Apartment(s) in which we have stayed. The fact that it was a flat/suite lacking nothing in fixtures and fittings, and in pristine condition, made for a memorable stay.Almost impossible to fault, and fortunately with a magnificent view (must book Room 601 the next time!) , and our only comments would be (1) a choice of butter or low fat spread would be appreciated, and (2) a tea cosy for the "tea Jennies" to spoil us even further!! "Should be 5 star!!!"

I have to say this has been the best apartments i have stayed in and i travel a lot! There was all we needed for our 4 day break and more. Staff was fantastic! Location was spot on! Best city break i have ever been on!!

"Both staff and location were excellent"

We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was a problem and checking in, out and being shown to our room and given a small tour was extremely professional. The location is ideal, not immediately in the City Centre but only 10 mins walk from there.

"Great location, modern and clean, good value for money"

Great location appartment offering much more versatility than standard hotel room. Cleaned daily (which is often not the case with appartments). Helpful front desk team. Downside: 1 of the bathrooms is very small and wardrobe space is limited and sometimes difficult to access. Pipes and extractor fans can be noisy when bathrooms are in use.
