Getting there:BY TRAIN: From York Railway Station walk east, turning right towards Queen Street and them make a right turn onto Queen Street. After 0.2 miles make a  left onto Blossom Street and continue onto Micklegate. Continue onto Bridge St/B1227 and follow B1227. After 0.1 miles turn left at Nessgate and turn right onto High Ousegate. Then take and slight right onto Piccadilly. After 0.1 miles turn left onto Merchantgate and then right onto Walmgate. The Hotel will be on the left.
BY ROAD: At Junction 44 of the A1 (M) use the left 2 lanes to merge onto A64 towards York.  After 13 miles take the A19 exit towards York (Centre) Selby.  At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A19 and continue onto Fishergate/A1036.  Following this road make a slight right onto Tower Street and then turn right onto Tower Street/A1036.  Almost immediately turn left onto Piccadilly and then right onto Lead Mill Lane. Take a right onto George Street and then right onto Walmgate. The Hotel will be on your left.

We enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn`t hesitate to come back or recommend it to others looking for a comfortable stay near the city centre. The quality of the breakfasts was very good, although occasionally the coffee arrived a bit cold. We would not recommend the evening food which we sampled once. The quality was poor. The bedroom was very comfortable but the AC constantly came on, even when we had switched it off and the room got very cold at times.Minor details only! We were very happy and enjoyed good conversations with staff

All reception and breakfast  staff were friendly and helpful.
However our room was a bit rough around the edges. Water damage on the bathroom door from the shower due to it being open right beside the door. The surface round the basin was stained and shelves dusty. Poor flush on toilet. The rest of the room was OK but very dusty in the corners and sheet had small old stain on it. Positive was a comfy bed.

"Home from Home. Very comfortable and welcoming hotel with attentive staff."
Arrived at the hotel after a long train journey and were welcomed by a very helpful receptionist.   Booking in was efficient.  Our room was on the ground floor, well appointed with a delicious bar of chocolate to welcome us.  Very comfortable bed.  Adjoining shower-room was clean with an excellent shower.    Shower, hair and hand and body products were lovely.     Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice, including variations on English breakfasts, several egg options, continental and cheeses/meats etc.   One area that might be helpful would be a help yourself toasting section.    A special mention for "Tim" who was on duty in the restaurant all the time we stayed at the hotel and despite being extremely busy, looked after guests and staff with kindness, a smile and effortless skill.    We did not sample the restaurant food, other than breakfast.    Although looking at the menu, we thought it was a little limited on food choice.

Fantastic stay in york at the hotel Indigo. Staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.  Breakfast amazing with freshly cooked food.  Would definitely stay again.

I would highly recommend the hotel indigo york 
 Ot was exceptionally cleN. Stagg very friendly and helpful. The only criticism o have was the evening menu. The only thing on offer were pizzas but I would definitely stay there again
