The 4* Lake District Castle Inn has 45 spacious rooms that are comfortably furnished, all of which have ensuite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. In-room amenities include flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, tea & coffee making facilities. During their stay guests also have use of the hotel`s leisure facilities. These include indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. There is also a fully equipped fitness suite. Full English Breakfast and the Castle Inn Tavern is open every day. PLEASE NOTE: There is no lift in the hotel, there are some ground floor rooms (subject to availability), higher floors are only accessible by stairs

Just 8 miles from Keswick and close to Bassenthwaite Lake, the 4* Castle Inn Hotel offers a peaceful location from which to explore the surrounding area and the Lake District in general. There are plenty of walking routes to explore the surrounding fells and Bassenthwaite Lake Nature Reserve, which is 3 miles from the hotel, also has routes to view the birds and other wildlife. Cockermouth, a busy market town on the edge of the Lake District National Park, is just 3 miles or 15 minutes drive away and Derwentwater is also popular with visitors and is less than 10 miles, 20 minutes by car.

Getting there:

BY ROAD: Heading south on M6, exit at junction 29 take the M65 exit to Burnley/Blackburn. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the M6 slip road to M55/Lancaster/B`pool and after 0.4 miles merge onto M6. Continue for 7 miles and then keep right to stay on M6 for a further 64 miles. At junction 40, take the A66 exit to Penrith/Workington/Brough. At Skirsgill Interchange, take the 1st exit on A66 and after 0.9 miles at the roundabout take the 3rd exit to stay on A66. After a further 14 miles continue straight onto Keswick Bypass/A66. After 1.6 miles at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A591 and after 6.8 miles turn left and almost immediately right and the hotel will be on the left.
