Each of the hotel`s en-suite bedrooms feature flat screen TV`s, complimentary Wi-Fi, radios, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryers. The George Restaurant offers a seasonal menu for both lunch and dinner and the hotel`s chef`s also prepare Afternoon Tea daily from 3pm-6pm. On sunny days guests can enjoy Al Fresco dining in the leafy courtyard.
Hotel and location:
Located in the charming market town of Oakham, the traditional 3* Brook Whipper-In offers a warm welcome. The hotel has traditional features such as oak beams and open log fires. As well as the picturesque villages and stunning countryside walks that can be found in the area, Rutland Water offers an array of activities including water sports, canoeing, mini-golf and bicycle hire. There are also several historical sights to be explored in the area such as Rockingham Castle, Normanton Church and Burghley House.
Getting there:
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Oakham Train Station, or approximately 2 minutes by taxi.
BY CAR: From the A1. Once you have turned off from the A1 on to the A606 keep going directly into Oakham where you will come to a mini roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout, another roundabout is approx. 100 yards in front of you, at this roundabout turn right on to Burley road.
You will see 3 x entrances on your left before the public car park ( Burley road pay and display).
The first entrance is our courtyard (walkthrough entrance),
Second entrance belongs to Chinese restaurant and the third entrance is our car parking area.
Please be aware there is no direct route through from the car park to the hotel.
You need to go back on to the pavement ,turn right walk back up Burley road and enter via our courtyard entrance, its approximately 50 yards, both the hotel areas are marked.
Walk through on the ground floor to reception and someone will be there to meet you and check you in.
It is necessary to give your vehicle registration during check in as our car park is monitored.
You can come to the front of the hotel in the market square
( Over the second roundabout and first on the right)
However be aware this is not our car park and has a one hour stay limit, you can however use this area just for checking in and unloading your luggage, if preferred, then transfer to the car park later.
